The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has introduced a new opportunity for professional educators to expand their impact in learning language across classrooms, schools and communities.
With the launch of its online Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Language and Literacy program, UW-Stevens Point looks to meet the needs of working professionals passionate about literacy, equity and educational leadership.
The program equips educators, literacy coaches, curriculum specialists and administrators with the advanced knowledge and practical tools needed to lead transformative change in language and literacy education. Offered in a flexible, cohort format with emphasis on practical application, the Ed.D. in Language and Literacy is designed for educators ready to pursue advanced professional roles.
“Our program is built for educators who want to lead with purpose,” said Amber Garbe, program director. “We’re preparing literacy leaders who can advocate for all learners and drive meaningful change in their schools and communities.”
The 54-credit program can be completed in three years and will primarily be delivered online, with the addition of an annual educational event designed to build partnerships, showcase scholarship and provide the opportunity for live dialogue with researcher-presenters.
